About that pacifier business...

This is Ms. Muppettt's husband here (this shall, hereafter, be my color). You may recognize me from my alter-ego, Zero Smythson, from the ever-popular blog, The Zero Review. (I've only posted on it once, but--still!--the blindingly intense intellectual brilliance that permeated every pixel of that post...)

First off--this means you--listen to my wife. She is smart. She is also pretty and spiritual and nice. This qualifies her as superior to just about everyone walking the face of the planet Earth. Certainly superior to me, at least.

Secondly, she's a librarian, so, if you cross her, she will silence you with a mighty SHOOSH of her forefinger and oh-so-lovely lips.

Third...I'm cool. Yeah. Really, really cool. Peace out.

Wisdom learned from storytime songs

Ducks like rain, and ducks also respond well to women (I made up the latter part of this gem of wisdom).

The first; alpha, or the glorious beginning

I spent a few hours today doing library outreach at the "Mommy Market" at South Towne Expo Center. Gave out lots of free bookmarks, booklists, and talked-up early literacy. In the midst of it all, I learned a few things myself: when I have kids I definately need to buy one of those new collapsible pacifiers--the kind that close up and protect the nipple when dropped on the floor. Also, mothers and pregnant women have their own "culture," and I'll have to study up a bit and "get with it" before I'm a member of the club.
